We booked our apartment on the strength of the trip advisor reviews and are so glad we did! I won't reiterate what has been said about the size of the apartment or facilitaties as they are all perfectly adequate. My partner and I enjoy walking so the location wasn't a problem to us and we just loved the views from our balcony! We stayed in A5. The top floor is by far the best! We watched the sun go down spectactularly every evening. However what makes the Petra Apartments truly special is Elena. She is one of the kindest, most warm hearted, generous, helpful people you are likely to meet and makes your stay here so enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend these apartments. (Elena, if you are reading this I promise I haven't forgotten to email you the photo and thanks again for the Cherry Brandy! Wonderful!).

A warm welcome, a home-made drink of Maraska, and we felt like we had known Ileana for years! The apartment is about a 10 minute bus ride or a 30-40 minute walk from the old town but it is an easy walk and the quietness of the neighbourhood makes up for being a little out of town. Our balcony view was lovely - the sunset was perfect - and the apartment was spotlessly clean with a nice-sized shower and a good, firm mattress. After being ripped off by a taxi driver to get there, Ileana made sure we had good service getting back to the bus depot - cost us less than half with her help! (The map on the web site shows the local bus stop not the city bus station which is 6 or 7 km away.) We ended out visit with a farewell drink under the fig - at 9 in the morning it was a great way to start our day and to end our visit to Zadar.

Myself and my partner stayed here for just 2 nights earlier this month. We were welcomed with open arms, some homemade alcohol and a cigarette... what more could you ask for? The room itself was superb (air con, kitchen, tv, lovely balcony view). And our lovely host Ilena was so helpful throughout our stay! I highly recommend staying here! :) Thanks. Mike and Amy

Super place to stay at a super price! We rented apartment A6 for two nights in September at 50 EUR per night. It has two double beds and two bathrooms. The balcony has a view over the rooftops to the ocean, but it was too hot outside in the afternoon while we were there to use it. Lots of room and immaculately clean. Ileana Kolanovic is extremely helpful and welcoming. She will treat you to drink when you arrive and will tell you everything you need to know about how to get around, use the Internet, etc. The beds are quite firm—OK for me but my partner found them a little too hard. There is a fridge and a stovetop as well as tea and coffee makers, but no microwave. If you have a car, this place is ideal, less so if you’re on foot. However, cabs are pretty economical here (30-40 KN to the town or bus station). You can also get to and from town by bus and Ileana will tell you how and furnish a map. However, it’s about half a km to the bus stop. To us, this was a minor inconvenience compared to the comfort and the value for the money.

My first visit to Croatia and a most hospitable welcome from Ilena.
I stayed here 4 nights. Its on the edge of town but this is not a problem as most accomodation is around this area..Its a quiet residential area within a short stroll to the bus route. I walked (strolled) to Zadar old town taking in the marinas and general wonderful views. One coffee stop took me 1 hour to the sea organ. On the bus will take 20 mins, inc walking to the stop. Ilena will provide you with bus details.
Wonderful welcome and friendliness from Ilena, spacious rooms, comfortable sleep and stay.
Great restaurant nearby, Pizzeria Sime. Recommended.
Take airport shuttle bus to the main bus station and approx 45 kuna max to Petra.
Take a bus to Nin for a day out.

9 wonderful days. Ilena was very friendly and helpful. Apartment located in a quiet area, very clean and homely. I recommend a paid camping beach, because it can be to find a shady place to stay with grass.
Good place for excursions to Zadar, Nin, Kortnati (!), Krka and many other places.
Pictures and description on the web are 100% true.
I really recommed this pleace.

We stayed only 4 days with friends in apartment 6. It was comfortable, well furnished, balcony has an awesome sea view, kitchen was super. Absolutely no problem!
Ilena was extremely friendly and helpful, we really apprecitated all her help and kindness. The place had a garden grill facility too, one night we wanted to try it, Ilena helped us, without her we couldn't make such delicious food :D
Zadar itself was nothing special, but we were on a good location for making great excursions to Krka and by bike to Nin, it was awesome! Zadar beach was not crowded, the sea was awesome.
I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone!

I often review my holidays on trip advisor but feel there needs to be an exceptional rating for those places that go above and beyond with their hospitality and this is definatly the case at Apartment Petra.
The warmth we were shown by Ileana made us all feel as though we were staying with family I even shed a tear when we left. She cooked dinner for us, whipped up chocolate pancakes, walked us the the shops, and shared her stories with us. She makes her own cherry brandy and limoncello all grown from her beautiful garden.
The apartments themselves are very spacious and clean and set in beautiful grounds, it tekes 5 minutes to walk to the beach, we ate in Sima the local pizzeria twice and cooked our own barbacue at Petra. There is a great barbacue area and Ileana will provide you with all the plates etc.
So for a relaxed and friendly holiday you cant beat here, thank you Ileana it was a privilage to stay with you.

We returned home from a wonderful 5 night stay at the Apartmani Petra.
We were pleasantly welcomed by Ileana with a lovely sherry drink and information on Zadar and were treated to drinks every evening.
We were upgraded to a sea view apartment at no extra charge; it was an ultra clean apartment.
We enjoyed the delicious Cherry strudels Ileana prepared for us one afternoon.
We will definitely return to the Apartmani Petra should we visit Zadar again.
