Zadar is conveniently located in the
central part of the Croatian Adriatic
in the most indented coast line of
the Adriatic archipelago. There are
National Parks such as Plitvice lakes,
Paklenica, Krka, and Kornati. There
are also several Nature Reserves such
as Vransko jezero – lake, Velebit
and the Telascica on Dugi otok – island.
There are several pristine beaches
which are nicely maintained and provide
an array of activities for recreation
and fun. The most popular beaches
are centrally located in Diklo and
Borik in close proximity to our residence.
The city of Zadar has plenty to offer
tourists in the region. Tourist activities
include nautical attractions, restaurants,
beautiful beaches, sightseeing, organized
trips to popular tourist attractions,
interesting and fun social events
and historic and cultural monuments.
Croatia’s diverse activities and attractions
make it a great vacation spot for
just about anyone… (young people,
couples, families with children, people
who enjoy an active vacation, people
interested in cultural and historical
heritage).
The house hostess can recommend a
variety of local restaurants to match
your culinary desires. Close to the
Apartments Petra there is an array
of quality sport activities to experience.
There are several sport fields and
plenty of sea related activities such
as sailing, surfing, parasailing,
diving, and sport fishing. If you
enjoy bicycling, a newly constructed
bicycle road 8 kilometers in length
links Diklo to Zaton. This bicycle
path enables a quiet and peaceful
viewing experience without the hassle
and congestion of the main road and
traffic jams. Zadar and the surrounding
area are well known for high quality
and state-of-the-art boat marinas.
The most well known are the
Borik
Marina located just a couple hundred
meters from our residence, and the
Dalmacija
Marina in Sukošan near Zadar.
In historic Zadar, throughout the
year, but especially during the summer
months, a variety of diverse and rich
cultural programs can be experienced.
The rich Croatian cultural experience
is not just limited to Zadar, in fact
the entire county is full of local
fiesta’s and festivals.
From Zadar there are many scheduled
trips to National Parks and points
of interest daily.
With such extensive and diverse activities
to experience, attractions such as
the architecture of Nikola Basic,
Morske Orgulje (Sea Organ), and the
solar spectacle of Pozdrav Suncu (Monument
to the Sun) should not be left out.
A festival in July called the “Night
of the Full Moon” is recognized by
all in the Dalmatia Region. Additionally,
during the month of July a more traditional
festival called the “Millennium Jump
and Dance Festival” represent the
unique Zadar attraction.
The night life in the Zadar area includes
numerous night clubs and casinos that
offer around-the-clock entertainment.
We highly recommend visiting the open
air
Garden
club, the
Gotham
disco club, the
Arsenal
club and the GO-GA night club located
in the Zadar marina.
